The announcement of the rosters for the 2012 All-Star game in Kanasas City came out today and the sole member of the Marlins to make the roster was outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton joins Ryan Braun and Jay Bruce as the NL outfield reserves behind Matt Kemp, Carlos Beltran, and Melky Cabrara. While arguments can be made about some people starting over others (Pablo Sanoval and Buster Posey starting over Carlos Ruiz/Yadier Molina and David Wright is ridiculous), their is no doubt that Stanton belongs in the All-Star game. Including Sunday's win, Stanton is batting .282 with 19 home runs, 50 RBI, and a .554 slugging percentage. Of course he will not only get a chance to play in the All-Star game but Stanton will also be a part of the home run derby, and probably will the favorite of many reporters to win the derby.
