Hanley Ramirez- Hanley Ramirez was sent on the DL today and it will be retroactive to May 30th.  Hanley is dealing with low back inflamation and has not played since leaving in the second inning of the Marlins game against the Dodgers on May 29th.  He took an MRI a few days ago and it showed inflamation in his back, but it also showed no strucural damage.  This move will allow the Marlins to also bring up a pitcher from the minors to start in JJ's place on Tuesday.  The Marlins have choosen to bring up Brad Hand from Double-A Jacksonville.  Hand has had a very good year in Jacksonville going 7-1 with a 3.53 ERA.  The Marlins choose the 21 year old lefty over Chris Sampson, Tom Koehler, Elih Villanueva who are all currently pitching in Triple-A New Orleans, none of whom were on the Marlins 40-man roster.

Josh Johnson- The word about Josh Johnson and in the inflammation in his shoulder is good but not great.  The inflammation is all but gone and Josh is not feeling any discomfort in his arm, buut he has yet to throw off of a mound.  For now he is just building up arm strength and say that he will begin to throw off a mound when he feels comfortable.

Clay Hensley- Is expected to miss three weeks with an AC joint sprain.  He has never dealt with this injury before.

Sean West & Alex Sanabia- Neither of the Marlins most Major League ready pitchers are expected to be ready for a big league start for a while.  West who had been dealing with a shoulder injury is at least a month away from being able to pitch in the big leagues.  Meanwhile Sanabia is likely out till after the All-Star game due to the right forarm injury he has been dealing with since the end of last season.
